GIE Lady Matrix resign Carrie Washington, ex US Orthez

GIE Maile Matrix signed 25-year old American power forward Carrie Washington (6'0''-F/C-94, college: Columbus St.). Washington played this season in France for US Orthez Basket (NF1). This summer she played with Atlanta Ambassadors in the U.S. The Ambassadors started the summer in France at the Liga Mediterranean Cup. In four games she averaged an impressive 10.0ppg, 1-Reb (15.6rpg) and 2 blocks. Later the American club would attend the Mitchell Cup in Koln, Germany. In four Mitchell Cup games she had 14.0ppg, 1-Reb (18.3rpg), 3.5apg, 3.0spg and 1-Block (3.3bpg). She was also voted All-Mediterranean Cup Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. In Germany she was named All-Mitchell Cup Player of the Year.

This will be Washington's return to the Matrix. She was named All-WUBA Defensive Player of the Year twice along with three All-Star Selections. 

Washington has played also professionally in Lithuania (Siauliai-Universitetas), Spain (Mataro), Carrie Washington (6'0''-F/C-94, college: Columbus St.) (France) and WUBA (GIE Matrix).

She attended Columbus State until 2015 where she was named PeachBelt Conference Defensive Player of the Year twice!! This will be her sixth season as a professional player.
