NorCal Raiders (WUBA) join 2021 United Cup of Champions

The NorCal Raiders of the WUBA (Women's Universal Basketball Association) joins the seventh season of the United Cup of Champions (Americas), replacing Santiago Basket Titanes Dorado, which withdrew from the competition. The new American representative will join Group A together with Equipo Femenino La Vega (Dominican Republic) and Sosua Heat Femenino (Dominican Republic).

The Raiders won the 2020 WUBA Western Conference Championship. The California based club posted a 8-2 record before the covid pandemic ended their season. The Raiders will be led by reigning WUBA Conference Player of the Year Sydni Stallworth (160-G, college: Alaska-Anch.). In 10 games she averaged an impressive16.8 points per game.

"We are just so excited and proud of the Raiders", said WUBA President Christy Luxe. These ladies have been dominate all season and we had to do all we could to get them in this amazing event. The goal of our league is always giving our ladies opportunity. This will be a great situation for them and they will do a great job representing us as a brand.

The 2021 United Cup will be held in La Vega, Dominican Republic. The event will kick off July 14-19 (2021).
