Uppsala (Sweden) sign Kristina King

KFUM Uppsala Basket (Damligan) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American combo guard Kristina Puthoff-King (180-92, college: Richmond).


Puthoff-King played last season at Rheinland Lions Loewen in German 2.Bundesliga. In 16 games she recorded very impressive stats: 1- (24.8ppg), 7.9rpg, 1- (6.9apg) and 2.7spg. She helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. Great season indeed as she was selected Eurobasket.com All-German 2.Bundesliga Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and Guard of the Year. She was also voted Porsche Player of the Year (Germany) in 2020.

The previous (18-19) season Puthoff-King played at Basket Club Saint Paul Reze (French LF2). After she played at MSP Bergische Loewen (Germany 2.Bundesliga). In German league where in 15 games she averaged a league best 26.4ppg, 6.5rpg and 4.5apg. She was later named Eurobasket.com All-German 2.Bundesliga Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and Guard of the Year. Her club would reach the German League finals for the first time.

Puthoff-King was a member of USA Senior National Team between 2015 and 2016. She was later named AsiaBasket.com All-WJC Player of the Year.

She is quite experienced player. Thanks to Puthoff-King's pro career she managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in six different countries. Puthoff-King has played previously professionally in Iceland (Grindavik), Lebanon (Chabibeh), Romania (Cluj Napoca), Spain (Mataro), Switzerland (Pully) and WUBA (GIE Matrix).

She is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

Puthoff-King attended University of Richmond until 2014 and it will be her seventh season as a professional player.

The scouts describe her following way: Kristina King is a great scorer, that can run the court with the ball very easily and can penetrate. She is a good short and long distance shooter. She is coming from a very big program the University of Richmond, where she was a leader for her school. She can play equally the position of Shooting Guard and Small Forward
