WUBA add Northern Conference in New York for 2020-21 Season
New York appointed as the Northern Conference
The Women's Universal Basketball Association (WUBA) announced that New York has been added to the 2020-21 expansion division.
"We have been waiting for New York for five long years," stated WUBA president Christy Luxe. There are certain markets that are needed to be a strong basketball league. New York happens to be one of those. So this is a very exciting time to be apart of the WUBA.
The Conference will feature some local legends like Monique Coker (6'2''-F-82, college: ODU), Ayesha Barkley (6'2''-C/F-87, college: Stetson) and Dominican National Team member Eyandra Molina (5'8''-G-90, college: NC Central).
"The focus will be on helping these talented women get to the next level", said Luxe. Now that we are partnered with the United Cup. It gives all of our players something to shoot for. There's a reason we place the most pros in the US market.
The Northern Conference will have eight active teams which include the Manhattan Watchers, Long Island Venom, New York Aztecs, NYC Immortals, Brooklyn Mamba, Harlem Legends, Queens NY Dragons and DPH Santiago Basket. The conference tryouts will be announced July 4, 2020.
